The Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday ended the rehab assignment of outfielder Oneil Cruz and activated him from the concussion injured list. Additionally, right-handed pitcher Dauri Moreta has been recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis.

Outfielder Ronny Simon was optioned to Indianapolis following Monday night's game at St. Louis. Additionally, left-handed pitcher Andrew Heaney has been designated for assignment.

Cruz had a triple, three RBIs, two walks, a stolen base and two runs scored in two rehab games with Double-A Altoona.

Moreta is in his second stint with Pittsburgh this season (also August 2-10). He had a 1.69 ERA (5.1ip/1er) and nine strikeouts in four appearances with Indianapolis from August 14-24.
