Worldwide superstar Taylor Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce announced on Aug. 26 that they’re engaged in a joint post on Instagram.
The couple joked to their fans, "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," alongside a five-photo carousel of Swift and Kelce surrounded by flowers with Travis on one knee.
Following the earth-shattering announcement, well-wishes and reactions started pouring in from sports stars, leagues and people from every corner of the world.
Here's how celebrities around the world reacted.
President Trump, Patrick Mahomes and more offer congratulations
During a news conference on Aug. 26, President Donald Trump, chimed in on the news of the engagement, wishing Swift and Kelce "a lot of luck."
Kelce’s teammate, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and his wife, Brittany, both posted separate Instagram Stories congratulating the newly engaged couple.
Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother, retired Eagles star Jason Kelce, congratulated the couple with a "how it started" vs. "how it's going" post.
In a statement to People, Gracie Hunt, the daughter of Chiefs chairman and CEO Clark Hunt, said she could not stop smiling following the news.
"I can’t stop smiling − Travis and Taylor’s engagement feels like a modern fairytale unfolding in real life," Hunt said. "Their love story has captured so many hearts, and now it’s stepping into an even more magical chapter.”

Pop star Sabrina Carpenter did the same, adding a handful of white heart emojis.
Outside of the sports world, U.S. Rep. Marcy Kaptur of Ohio congratulated the couple and used the chance to advocate for protections for Social Security and Medicare.

And the city of Cleveland's official X account jokingly congratulated its "local man" on his engagement (Kelce is from Cleveland Heights, a suburb of the northeast Ohio city).
