No bones about it: Pittsburgh International Airport is officially home to America’s cutest TSA dog.
Steeler, a two-and-a-half-year-old Labrador, posed regally in front of the Franco Harris statue on Pittsburgh International’s ticketing level Tuesday as his handler, Mark Smith, adorned him with a blue first-place ribbon for winning the TSA’s annual “Cutest Canine” bracket.
Mr. Smith said that for his dog — who was born on Super Bowl Sunday in 2023 and ended up working in Pittsburgh by pure chance — winning the competition was a good omen for his namesake’s upcoming football season.
“Fate worked out for him,” he said. “The Steelers are going to the Super Bowl for sure at this point.”
