HOUSTON – Texans veteran safety Jimmie Ward was officially placed on the NFL’s commissioner-exempt list, meaning he is ineligible to practice or play at this time due to his unresolved legal situation.

Ward, facing a pending third-degree felony domestic violence assault case in Montgomery County, is the defendant in a civil lawsuit filed on behalf of his son’s mother by plaintiff’s attorney Tony Buzbee in Harris County.
