The Billings School Board approved nearly unanimously Monday an approximate $2.4 million budgetary increase to renovate Daylis Stadium after initial trustee opposition punted the funding plan last week .
The extra millions in the estimated $14.9-million project will go to releveling the stadium after surveyors found an unexpected 21-inch difference from one end of the track to the other. The project will replace bleachers and update facilities for the football stadium. Of the total, $6.25 million will be contributed by the school district, while the rest — roughly $8.65 million — is still planned to be fundraised in a likely years-long effort.
