BLUFFTON, S.C. (WCSC) - The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office says that a Bluffton store is now declared safe after a threat of a possible explosive device on Tuesday afternoon.
The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a report just after 3 p.m. of a reported explosive device outside the CVS Pharmacy inside Target on Fording Island Road, according to deputies.
For precaution, evacuations were put in place at Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods and a nearby CVS on Fording Island Road.
After an investigation and sweep of the area, including Target and the nearby CVS, no suspicious packages or explosive devices were found.
The area was deemed safe at approximately 7:15 p.m. and was reopened to the public.
