DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCSC) - The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office has charged a man in connection with multiple vehicle break-ins and a stolen vehicle.

Michael Shane Boynton, 19, is charged with five counts of breaking into motor vehicles and receiving stolen goods greater than $10,000, sheriff’s spokesman Steven Wright says.

The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division investigated a series of vehicle break-ins between Aug. 20 and Aug. 21 in the Archdale subdivision.

Deputies discovered that multiple personal items, including electronics and wallets, were stolen from vehicles. A 2015 Nissan Altima was also stolen.

Detectives and the Uniform Patrol Division were able to gather evidence showing the suspects breaking into the vehicles.
