Police said the 52-year-old Midland, Ont., man accused of killing and dismembering two men once lived with them in the same homeless encampment in Barrie.

During an otherwise tight-lipped news conference, Barrie cops would not say how the victims, William “Blake” Robinson, 45, and David “Kyle” Cheesequay, 41, were killed or what motive the accused — Robert Ladouceur, who is now facing 33 charges in total — may have allegedly had.

“These were not random murders,” said Sgt. Brett Carleton at a Tuesday news conference in Barrie.

“Human remains were found both in Huntsville and in Barrie at the encampment. We know what the motive is, but, no, I can’t speak to that now. All I can say at this time is I knew they were acquaintances and all lived at the encampment at one time.”
