Krispy Kreme is gearing up to open a brand-new Toronto location in the heart of one of the city’s most popular neighbourhoods.

To echo the immortal (well, on the internet anyway ) words of American comedian Annie Korzen: “Have you ever had a Krispy Kreme? Was it crispy? Was it creamy?”

She raises a good point. The donuts at the lauded international chain can scarcely be described as either crispy or particularly creamy, save for those that are filled with whipped cream, but that doesn’t make them any less delicious.

You see, in a city that has no shortage of exceptional artisanal donut shops, the donuts at Krispy Kreme just kind of seem to be their own thing entirely.
