CAHOKIA HEIGHTS — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in a hit-and-run accident Saturday night on Highway 157 south of Foley Drive, police said.

Cahokia Heights Police Chief Tom Trice said the incident took place about 10:50 p.m.

According to the Belleville News-Democrat, St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. said the victim was Harold Schaedler, 49, whose last known address was in Belleville.
