MONTPELIER, Vt. (WCAX) - Vermont’s secretary of state calls the Trump administration’s efforts to target elections a witch hunt.

In the latest episode of the 802 News podcast , Mark Johnson sat down with Vermont Secretary of State Sarah Copeland Hanzas.

“It’s a little hard to understand what the rationale is because the federal government has never asked states for this level of detail on voter registration rolls. It could be that it’s part of this, what I would essentially call a witch hunt to try to identify noncitizens on our voter rolls,” Copeland Hanzas said.
