BURLINGTON, Iowa (WGEM) - Elite Casino Resorts of Riverside, Iowa, announced Tuesday it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Great River Entertainment, which owns Catfish Bend Casino and FunCity Resort located in Burlington, Iowa.

According to Elite Casino Resorts, with this acquisition, the Kehl family, who is a majority owner of Elite Casino Resorts, along with more than 1,200 Iowa unitholders, is bringing Catfish Bend and FunCity back under their ownership

The Kehl family helped launch casino gaming in Burlington during the original riverboat era before selling to Randy Winegard.
