HANNIBAL (WGEM) - Crews had a large crane at the Hannibal Free Public Library on Tuesday.
The new roof has an added story with a slanted roof to help prevent water damage.
The old roof has had leaking issues since 2017.

The library will be open and closed for the next few weeks as construction allows.
“We’re hoping to be open tomorrow, but if something poses a safety issue we close down and our patrons, we just hope will be very patient with us, and I think a lot of them know it’s coming,” said Caitlin Greathouse, the Hannibal Free Public Library Director.
The cost of the new roof is about $600,000 and it was made possible thanks to fundraising and a donation from a former employee.
The library said there will be no pe
