WASHINGTON, D.C. – A man was arrested outside the White House for burning an American flag, just hours after President Trump signed an executive order seeking to criminalize the action.

The man identified himself as a 20-year combat veteran, and said he did it in protest.

Police said he was arrested for violating a statute that prohibits lighting a fire in a public park.
