Embattled Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook has tapped former Hunter Biden attorney Abbe Lowell to fight President Trump’s effort to oust her from the central bank over allegations that she committed mortgage fraud.

Lowell, who is also defending New York Attorney General Letitia James from similar allegations leveled by the Trump administration, vowed to file a lawsuit Tuesday after the president announced he was dismissing Cook “for cause.”

“President Trump has no authority to remove Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook,” Lowell said in a statement.

“His attempt to fire her, based solely on a referral letter, lacks any factual or legal basis,” the prominent white-collar attorney added. “We will be filing a lawsuit challenging this illegal action.” 3
