LOS ANGELES -- Rapper Cardi B is in a Los Angeles courtroom Tuesday over a civil lawsuit filed against her.

A security guard claims Cardi B assaulted her at a medical office building back in 2018, when the rapper was pregnant with her first child.

Cardi B and her lawyers say there was no physical assault.

The Los Angeles-based security guard filed a lawsuit against Cardi B in 2020. She alleges the rapper assaulted her, spit on her and shouted racial slurs after a confrontation outside of a Beverly Hills OB-GYN office in 2018.

The rapper, whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar, maintains the guard was the aggressor, trying to a record video of her on her phone.

Cardi B told reporters "nobody touched" the security guard, and said she was being recorded without her knowledge.
