(LOOTPRESS) – Cracker Barrel announced Tuesday, Aug. 26, that it will scrap its newly introduced logo and return to its long-familiar “Old Timer” design.

The decision comes just a week after the nationwide restaurant and country store chain unveiled a simplified logo on Aug. 19 as part of a fall menu campaign.

Company leaders had described the updated look as an “enhanced brand” meant to modernize Cracker Barrel’s image, shifting away from its nostalgia-filled décor toward a cleaner, more contemporary style.

The move quickly sparked backlash from customers, many of whom took to social media to criticize the new design.

The controversy grew when both President Donald Trump and the Democratic Party publicly condemned the change.
