A crisis recovery center that provides mental health crisis services for both children and adults and those battling substance use is slated to open next week in DuPage County.
NBC Chicago was given a tour of the new site, which is located at 115 N. County Farm Rd. in Wheaton.
“We have seven triage rooms, five for any families coming from the front door and two dedicated to that first responders-secured handoff,” said Adam Forker, DuPage County Health Department executive director. “To the left is what we call the sobering spaces, so there’s five sobering spaces.”
The two-story facility has been years in the making.
