To see an art exhibit, usually you’d have to go to a gallery or museum. In Garland, you can see an art exhibit at the local library or brewery.

“This is a chance to get art out and make it more accessible,” Garland Cultural Arts Director Amy Rosenthal said. “It’s kind of art in unexpected places.”

The 3rd annual Art Vibe Garland is a juried art show. More than 400 artists submitted work, but only 43 made it into the show. Carrington T., a Booker T. Washington High School and University of Texas graduate, was among them.

“It was really exciting to win Best in Show! I was very happy,” Carrington T. said, standing next to her work titled ‘Cam’, a white and gray pencil drawing on black paper of her little cousin, Cameron.
