BAY CITY, MI — A Bay City man accused of killing and dismembering a man he met on Grindr appeared in a Bay County courtroom for a preliminary examination Tuesday, Aug. 26, nearly a year after he allegedly committed the crimes.
During the hearing for 41-year-old Robert D. Tweedly Jr. , Bay County District Court Judge Mark E. Janer ruled there is probable cause to believe Tweedly committed the crimes of which he is accused, allowing the case to proceed at the circuit court level.
Tweedly allegedly strangled Justie T. Stilwell, 41, of Bay City after pushing him down the stairs at Tweedly’s Bay City home on Sept. 13. Tweedly is charged with open murder and disinterment or mutilation of a dead body in connection with the incident.
