Prince George's County Public Schools, the second largest school system in the state, is still working to recruit new bus drivers on its first day of school.
That means some kids are waiting longer for their rides.

“We've had some great arrival times, but we’ve also had delays," said Keba Baldwin, the head of transportation at PGCPS. “The most important part is that we’ve been able to get kids to school safely, and we’re gonna be able to get them home safely.”
The system is short about 100 drivers and is still recruiting. PGCPS updated its application process to make hiring easier and, it hopes, quicker.
