According to the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, human remains were found about 150 yards east of the popular Flatirons Vista Trailhead, which is located on State Highway 93.

The discovery stemmed from a report received from a member of the City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks vegetation crew at about 10:13 a.m. on August 26. Once at the scene, authorities were able to locate the decomposed remains.

The investigation related to the case is ongoing, with no additional details available at this time.
