NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - Colleges across the country are dealing with fake shooting threats, including two universities in Tennessee.

WSMV4’s Courtney Allen asked local colleges about concerns of students not taking threats seriously, given how many fake ones there have been.

“It has become really normalized,” college student Jason Lowry said.

“Normalized” is the way some students at Vanderbilt University describe threats of mass violence being made at colleges. “I just feel like that is part of life at this point,” Lowry said.

Several universities across the country have dealt with shooting threats already this school year, including the University of Tennessee Knoxville on Monday and the University of Tennessee Chattanooga last week.
