A former Detroit Lions defensive tackle saw his reunion with a familiar coach cut short after less than a month.
Thirty-two-year-old veteran Kyle Peko was among the New England Patriots’ roster cuts ahead of Tuesday’s 4 p.m. deadline, when all NFL teams had to finalize their 53-man rosters for the 2025 season.
Peko joined New England after spending the previous year in Detroit. He first signed with the Lions in May 2024 but was released following training camp.
The Lions quickly brought him back on their practice squad, and several weeks later promoted him to the active roster. He appeared in five games, including one start, and finished with two tackles and two quarterback hits.
