TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) - 98.7 KTCP is holding classes to train local talent to create content for its Bell County broadcasts.
KTCP received its FCC license as a non-profit station in Dec. 2024. Board president Joe Royer and his wife, Sandra Royer, are spearheading the station’s startup.
They held a free class to train people on the basics of starting a show. The training included creative conception and application as well as technical instruction.
“The reason we started this class was to encourage local voices,” Joe said. “We want to get everybody. Everybody’s got something to say.”
Joe said the station is meant to be the voice of Bell County. He hopes they can start broadcasting in September.
“We wanna give everyone a chance to get on the air and share your stories,” Joe said.
