A Metro Vancouver-area Labour Day celebration is planned Monday, Sept. 1 at Edmonds Park in Burnaby from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
It's organized as a free, fun, family-friendly event co-hosted by Vancouver & District Labour Council (VDLC) and New Westminster & District Labour Council (NWDLC).
"There will be exciting speakers (starting at 11 a.m.), bouncy castles, games and entertainment for kids, live music by LJ Mounteney, free food and treats, union and community organization booths, and more," promises a post on vdlc.ca/events .
The park is located at 7433 Humphries Ave., Burnaby.
The VDLC also invites people to attend a book-launch event for authors Tony Penikett and John Calvert, 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11 at SFU Downtown Habour Centre in Vancouver
