BALTIMORE — Red Sox pitcher Richard Fitts, who left Monday’s game with biceps tightness , underwent a series of strength tests and has been diagnosed with right arm neuritis.

Boston placed Fitts on the injured list before Tuesday’s game and recalled left-handed reliever Jovani Morán to take his spot on the active roster.

“When we get back to Boston, I get in front of the doc, it’ll be either confirmed or something different,” said Fitts, who has not undergone an MRI.

Fitts expressed uncertainty about the diagnosis, stating: “Anything nerve freaks me out a little bit just because I’ve never had anything like that before, so yeah, I don’t know."
