RUSSELLVILLE, Ky. – A Safe Haven Baby Box is now available at the Russellville Fire Department, as it was blessed Tuesday afternoon.
The box has been in the works for a while now, as conversations between Mayor Mark Stratton and the fire chief have been going on. Chief Scot Celsor says this is a great thing to have in the community:
“I’m proud to be part of our community that chooses life, safety and dignity… and we thank our local leaders, first responders and especially the advocates and donors who made this possible. I’m sad that there’s a need for these boxes, but I’m thankful that somebody had enough sense to create this,” he says.
