On Thursday San Diego State begins its college football season against Stony Brook. Over the weekend San Diego FC and the Wave played on back-to-back days. From August 23 to October 3 there are 13 games on the schedule. On average someone will be playing in Mission Valley every 3+ days.
"I know that the grind is coming, we know that the grind is coming," said Mike Kerns - Director of Turf and Grounds at Snapdragon Stadium. "You try and get your rest when you can. You hope the field gets the rest when you can, but we're gonna be spent after it. We're gonna be spent after this fall."
Last fall was a challenging one for Mike's crew. Issues with the playing surface became evident as the football season played out. When San Diego S
