Gears of War: Reloaded is the famed third-person shooter series' big debut on PlayStation, a move that would have been unthinkable just a few years ago. Gears has been a major console-exclusive property for Microsoft and Xbox since its inception in 2006, but now the original game has come to the PS5 revamped and with full cross-progression.

When you first boot up Gears of War: Reloaded on PS5 , you'll be prompted to link your Microsoft account. This isn't strictly necessary, but doing so will allow you to party up with your friends on other platforms – it also ensures your campaign and multiplayer progress are synced between platforms, in case you happen to play Reloaded on multiple devices. There's also a surprise benefit that may not be immediately obvious.
