SPENCER, Iowa (KTIV) - Iowa’s Character Counts Program has honored the city of Spencer, Iowa, as the 2025 Community of the Year for its efforts to recover from historic flooding last summer.
Today, community members gathered to see the award presented to the community.
The Character Counts organization focuses on the six pillars of character... trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and good citizenship.
They look for communities that reflect those six pillars.
