STORRS, Conn. — The rollercoaster ride of UConn Football quarterback Joe Fagnano continues this fall.
Head coach Jim Mora announced Tuesday that the seventh-year signal caller will lead the team in its season opener Saturday at 2 p.m. against Central Connecticut State University at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field.
Despite limited action, Fagnano threw for 20 touchdowns and 1,631 yards while only being intercepted four times in 2024.
This is Fagnano’s third season in Connecticut. Following his success at Maine, Fagnano made his way south to Storrs and earned the starting QB position entering the 2023 campaign.
A season-ending shoulder injury against Georgia State in the Huskies’ second game sent Fagnano to the bench, where he stayed to start 2024 after losing the starting
