The New England Patriots announced their 53-man roster, and Kyle Dugger was on the team.

Dugger has been on the trade block for weeks, per the Boston Herald's Andrew Callahan . However, despite that, the Patriots took him on the roster because they were not close to finding a trade on Tuesday morning ahead of the roster deadline. While he is on the team now, he may not be soon.

"It's believed the Patriots could reengage in trade talks midseason, assuming Dugger's play continues to improve as it did over the past week," wrote Callahan. "His spot on the team is not a given for the rest of the season, according to a source."

Dugger is the Patriots' longest-tenured player, but it is worth noting that he was extended before Mike Vrabel became head coach, and he was drafted by Bill Belichic
