Colorado Springs received 1.76 inches of rainfall from Friday to Tuesday, bringing the total amount of precipitation in August to 1.84 inches, according to National Weather Service data.

Despite the recent rainfall, lack of precipitation in the first 21 days of August means Colorado Springs needs 0.18 inches each remaining day of the month to reach the average of 2.96 inches.

As of Tuesday evening, the daily precipitation total was 0.32 inches, according to weather service observations at the Colorado Springs Municipal Airport.
