The National Weather Service issued an updated report at 7:50 p.m. on Tuesday for strong thunderstorms until 8:30 p.m. for Siskiyou Mountains and Southern Oregon Cascades.

The storms are anticipated to bring wind gusts of up to 40 mph and penny-sized hail (0.75 inches).

"At 7:50 p.m., Doppler radar tracked a strong thunderstorm 7 miles north of Klamath River, or 16 miles south of Ashland, moving northeast at 5 mph," according to the weather service. "Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible."

The alert is for Mount Ashland Snow Park, Grouse Gap Snow Park and Hilt.

The weather service states, "If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building."
