Oregon’s Power Four nonconference opponent has decided on its starting quarterback to open the season.

Oklahoma State will start redshirt freshman Hauss Hejny, according to multiple reports.

A transfer from TCU, Hejny appeared in four games last season and did not attempt a pass. He had 15 carries for 65 yards, including eight for 48 yards in a win over Cincinnati.

The 6-foot, 206-pound Hejny came to Oklahoma State from TCU along with offensive coordinator Doug Meacham.

Hejny was a four-star prospect ranked No. 19 among QBs in the class of 2024. He threw for over 2,000 yards and rushed for over 1,000 yards as a junior at Aledo High School, which he led to back-to-back Texas 5A Division I state championships. Hejny also ran track, with multiple times under 11 seconds in the 100 meters.
