NATCHITOCHES, La. — Natchitoches police have arrested a man accused of brandishing a gun and acting erratically on a city street early Monday morning.

Officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Younger Boulevard at about 1:03 a.m. after receiving a report of a man waving a firearm and walking in the street. At the scene, they found Chad Haskins, 32, punching the air and acting aggressively.

When officers attempted to take Haskins into custody, he allegedly resisted and acted aggressively toward them. After he was detained, officers found 29 grams of marijuana and 15 suspected methamphetamine pills. A gun was also recovered.

Haskins faces several charges, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance,
