After a year away from the game, Hunter Renfrow had hoped to complete an NFL comeback with the Carolina Panthers.

The two-time national champion at Clemson made the Pro Bowl with the Las Vegas Raiders in 2021, and played five seasons for the franchise before stepping away from football in 2024 to deal with ulcerative colitis. Renfrow, 29, rediscovered his spark for the game at Clemson as he worked his way back into shape earlier this year.
