SAN ANTONIO — The second day of the fall semester at UTSA ended with students being briefly evacuated from on-campus housing Tuesday night as the university looked into reports of "an active/credible threat."
Nineteen minutes after that alert went out to students, the university sent out another one: "Previous alerts of incidents on campus are not credible. Police presence increased as precaution. Resume normal activity."
UTSA officials later shared a public update on X, writing that university officials issued the alerts out of an abundance of caution upon receive "two reports of threats against the campus." The university didn't elaborate on the nature of the threats, but said that "both incidents were determined to be unfounded" after a brief investigation.
