ELMIRA, N.Y. (WENY) -- Within the next week, drivers on the Clemens Center Parkway will need to drive a bit slower than they're used to. On Tuesday, September 2, a permanent speed limit reduction will be implemented on a small stretch of the parkway.
The New York State Department of Transportation put out a travel advisory for road signs being changed in the City of Elmira next week. Those signs will be new speed limit signs indicating a permanent five-mile-per-hour reduction on half a mile of the Clemens Center Parkway.
The speed limit will go from 40 MPH to 35 MPH between East Second Street and the south end of the Chemung River Bridge.
