“It’s certainly a nod to the 1980s with the synth, the plotting, I guess, and the filming, and the whole idea of it,” Brown said.

The film debuts Aug. 22 and plays a second time on Aug. 29 at the George Dawson Inn, in Dawson Creek, B.C., a little more than an hour northwest of Grande Prairie.
