Billy Ray Cyrus has revealed his daughter Miley Cyrus wrote him a song for his birthday.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, the Achy Breaky Heart hitmaker shared that Miley recorded a track titled Secrets to celebrate him turning 64.

In the accompanying caption, Billy explained that the Flowers singer even tapped his "favourite" artists from Fleetwood Mac to feature on the song - though he didn't specify which musicians were included.

"For my birthday, Miley gave me the gift of music and wrote me a song called Secrets and got my favorite musicians Fleetwood Mac to play on it! I love you Mile," he wrote.

In addition, Billy posted a montage of clips showing him listening to the song on his phone while he walked in a field.

A portion of the audio was used as the soundtrack.

"Secrets / I want to keep your secrets / Like sunlight in the shadows / Like footsteps in the grass," Miley sings.

The Wrecking Ball star has not yet commented on the sentimental gift.

However, Billy's girlfriend, Elizabeth Hurley, praised the song in the comments section of the post.

"Happy Birthday and what a beautiful video to a beautiful song by your beautiful daughter," she gushed.

While Billy and Miley were estranged for some time, during an interview for The New York Times published in June, the 32-year-old noted that she and her dad had "done a lot of healing" in recent months and were on much better terms.
