Duke football emphasized one major thing throughout fall camp: its running game.

Last season, the Blue Devils averaged 92.5 rushing yards per game, finishing second-to-last in the ACC and ranking 127th out of 133 FBS teams. The struggles were compounded by injuries to Jaquez Moore, who appeared in only five games due to multiple foot issues. In his absence, Star Thomas led the team with 871 yards and seven touchdowns, while Peyton Jones contributed 317 yards and three scores.
