If the Mackinac Bridge Walk seems too daunting, or isn’t enough fun to fill your Labor Day, there are several other unique opportunities to cross a Northern Michigan bridge on Monday, Sept. 1.

From the “World’s Shortest Swing Bridge Walk” to a bridge walk by candlelight, here is what’s available:

State Street Bridge Walk in Cheboygan

The State Street Bridge Walk in Cheboygan is back and bigger than ever this year. The family-friendly event features live music, a community picnic, a visit by the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile and more.

Line-up for the walk begins on the east side of the State Street Bridge at 11:30 a.m., with bridge walk t-shirts going on sale at 11:15 a.m. The walk starts at noon, and will be followed by a free community picnic at Festival Square. There will be live music fr
