LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services could lose a grant that helps fund the state’s Personal Responsibility Education Program (PREP).
On April 14, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), through its Administration for Children and Families, asked 46 states and territories, including Nebraska, to provide current curricula and program materials used in the PREP program.
After reviewing the materials, HHS determined some content was not in compliance with the PREP statute and ordered states to remove all references to “gender ideology” within 60 days of the letters issued Tuesday.
HHS said Nebraska’s violations were found in the state’s Teen Outreach Program curriculum.
