A Guilford County group formed to advocate for police reforms is planning to keep up the pressure on city leaders as the city’s police department prepares to release bodycam footage of a traffic stop.
Last week, Superior Court Judge S. Thomas Currin II granted requests by the city of Greensboro and police Chief John Thompson to release bodycam footage of a May 14 traffic stop at the intersection of Willow Road and McRae Street. The stop gained attention in the spring when a short video showing Officer Braden McDaniel pointing his weapon into the vehicle and threatening to shoot was posted to Facebook.
Damonta Glover, 24, the driver of the vehicle, was cited for driving while license revoked and an equipment violation.
