A sudden autumn-like weather pattern will deliver unusually cool temperatures to central Pennsylvania, with overnight lows dipping into the 40s and daytime highs remaining mild through the week.

Isolated lake effect showers might briefly impact the northern half of the region, with otherwise dry and pleasant conditions expected.

Temperatures will drop significantly overnight, with forecast lows ranging from 40 to 55 degrees — well below seasonal averages. Wednesday will bring comfortable, clear conditions with northwest winds gusting 15 to 20 mph. Scattered clouds around 5,000 feet will provide occasional breaks in the sunshine.
