A man rammed into the front of a South Carolina gas station before stealing the cash register, according to deputies. Latest Forecast

The Jasper County Sheriff's Office said Justin Bessinger rammed a Kia Optima into the Shell gas station on Point South Drive around 3 a.m. on Sunday.

He then stole the store's safe, deputies say.

Deputies said he was then involved in a chase with Yemassee police and arrested.

Detectives said they identified Bessinger through surveillance video.

He is being held at the Hampton County Detention Center on charges of second-degree burglary, malicious injury to property and petit larceny.
