The Cherokee County Warriors dropped two places, and the Collinsville Panthers entered the top 10 in this week’s Alabama Sports Writers Association high school football rankings. The latest poll was released early Wednesday morning.

Coming off a season-opening 24-8 loss at Class 3A Piedmont (1-0) on Friday, Class 4A Cherokee County (0-1) fell from No. 2 to No. 4 this week. The Warriors look to rebound when they host Class 5A Arab (1-0) this Friday in the second Foothills Tractor Game of the Week on WEIS.

Speaking of Piedmont, the Bulldogs hold steady at No. 2 this week behind defending state champion Mars Hill Bible. Piedmont will host Saks (0-1) to open Region 6 play on Friday.
