SALT LAKE CITY — A woman was killed after she side-swiped a semi truck Tuesday morning, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
In a press release , UHP said that at approximately 7:40 a.m., the 43-year-old woman was driving a Toyota Sequoia on eastbound state Route 6, just north of Helper.
According to UHP, the woman crossed the centerline and sidewiped a semi truck traveling westbound.
“The collision caused the Toyota to go off the road to the east, go through the guardrail, off an embankment, and overturn, with the driver pinned underneath,” UHP said. “The semi came to rest on the eastbound shoulder facing west.”
According to UHP, the woman’s door was ripped open during the crash, causing her to be ejected. She sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
